  3. #1 - The topic of this message base is Sport-Fishing.It can
  4.  
  5. be the politics,and policies or about current events, it can be
  6. whatever,but it *MUST* be about fishing,bearing in mind the *focus*
  7. of the echo is of more on northern fisheries,both salt and freshwater.
  8. With one exception,from the 1st of Nov to the last day of March,we
  9. will allow open chatter on anything,as long as it pertains to the
  10. **Outdoors**,with all further said rules still in effect.If this
  11. option isabused the moderator(s),will cut this open period out.
  12. This option must also be of "northern nature"and will be monitored
  13. closely,during this period.This is an unique option,that is
  14. experimental,so let's make it work!

  16. Rule #2 - Debate the issues, not the person.  Personal attacks, also
  17. known as "flames", are NOT allowed within the echo (if you MUST
  18. flame somebody, send them direct netmail instead, or just press the
  19. NEXT_MSG key).The other option is to moderate yourself! In otherwords
  20. agree that you both disagree and move on to another topic,when their ]
  21. is an obvious impass of dialog from both sides.

  23. Rule #3 - The official Language of the echo is English.

  25. Rule #4 - Profanity is not permitted, though if the moderator is in a
  26. good mood he may allow some MINOR stuff to slip through.  If in doubt,
  27. don't use the word.Remember that ALL ages access these echo's,so some
  28. self discipline is in order.

  30. Rule #5 - Sometimes people use this echo as a soapbox to air their views,
  31. we expect all participants to take responsibility for their comments:
  32. all users are expected to use their REAL NAMES when posting in this
  33. echo."Handles" are not permitted.

  35. Rule #6 - All postings must contain <smiles> :-)

  37. Rule #7 - Please,although you may run into expert fisherfolk out in this
  38. conference,*ALWAYS* check the rules,and never take ones comments as
  39. the "gospel",fishing regulations can change in an instant so it is
  40. your responsibility to know them before heading out.No one but yourself
  41. is responsible to abide by all fishing regulations,irregardless of what
  42. one states here.

  44. Rule #8 - Postings of commercial nature will not be tolerated.If you
  45. happen to be in a commercial trade with-in fisheries,we would enjoy
  46. your comments and views.But please leave your "business" out of the echo.

  48. Rule #9 - If you intend to "copy" an article word for word,we the
  49. moderators insist,that proper copyright permission be granted.
  50. You can initiate a conversation,by a **small** quoted passage,with
  51. the author's credit attached.
